This is so far the longest series I have ever done for engagement photo session: two sessions in Fall 2010 and Winter 2011. The winter session especially was done in the aftermath of snow blizzard in New York city area. Sandri & San san are super fun and full of excitement in cold weather. I just had to keep up with their spirit. Enjoy the pictures.

Let me introduce Charley & Trudy whose love story is so touching and inspiring. They both lost their spouses due to illnesses years ago and never expected to find each other thru a close friend. The love clicked thru their love for hiking and outdoor activity. Last October, they got married. Their love story is like two birds finally flying away together across the sky.
The picture set was taken a month after their wedding at Harriman State Park, New York.

This time I was the second shooter for San Francisco based Ting Photography. The wedding ceremony of Derek & Tiffany was held in Hampton beach, NY, and the reception was at the beach house. Beautiful wedding ceremony on white sand beach with warm and super exciting family and guests. When the happy couple did their first dance with a rock song from The Foo Fighter "Everlong", it could not have been better. DJ & Entertainment by Party Harty Entertainment , DJ Evan rock the house! Key West, Florida

From Fort Lauderdale, we drove down to Key West, beautiful places, tropical breeze, amazing blue sky with superb clouds. Key Lime, can't miss that, the drink and pie. Remind me of my home town beaches in Ambon, Indonesia. We circled around the island with a Jet Ski, feel the waves and enjoying the bright weather. I never try the panorama picture, since most of my picture is people, this time I give a try, using the tools of photoshop stitching. It came great and easy. Trip to Key West will always be remember.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Never been to Florida before, so this will be my first time. Fort Lauderdale, first time I heard about this place is when I started digging jazz music, found one of the best bass player Jaco Pastorius from Fort Lauderdale, unique personality, genius musician, with manic acts, and he really good, though I play guitar, but I always like to hear his music. He end up tragically becoming homeless in New York City, lived on street, played his bass guitar on park, with his hazard look, imagine he is one of the greatest bass player. Then he went back to Fort Lauderdale to start all over, he was killed after a fight incident in a bar. You can check it out his tribute website here.

Tomorrow I'm heading to Fort Lauderdale, not on a special mission for Jaco, it just happen to be my first stop, and I would like to feel the air and the atmosphere of my favorite musician home town.

Richard and Magdalena Wedding, Sag Harbor, New York

Did shoot a wedding of Richard and Magdalena at Sag Harbor - Long Island, New York. It's a laid back wedding, with family and close friends making this wedding privately fun. After the ceremony, dance, followed by barbeque lunch, everybody was relaxing by the pool, enjoying the beautiful day after a rainy day a day before. I'm having great time, I do not feel like a hired photographer at that time, they treat me like their family.

Scent of beach

I went to Sunken Forest Beach, Long Island, NY on saturday. Nice beach, not too crowded. Being grown up in small island name Ambon in Indonesia with beaches around it, makes me the beach boy. Something comes in my mind about doing photo shoot about the beach life, with sunset or sunrise scene, sitting around the fire, silhouette again the sky. Also about photo shooting models with swim suite, something like in those sexy magazines.

Stay tune for more in this blog, I will put some info about some my equipment/toys, some photo tips for point shoot camera. Back on the beach, I did some portraits over there, I will put some on my website. Enjoy some of the pictures first.

New updated website!

After a few weeks (or months) I just finished updating my website, here. With new color, new pictures of course. I'm happy cause I have to do it all by my self, have to learn the design program, web software, until it become finished web site. It's not comparable with other super website, just love to know that I can do it.

Let's start with this story, I use to have dream to become a musician, a guitar player back in my country Indonesia. Then after couple bands in high school, play for some parties and at church, it comes to, I'm alone. I can't find any musician partner since I arrived here in United States. With the digital camera era growing, I decided to choose photography. In my college time I did take photography class, bought my first camera Yashica 108 manual SLR, take more ugly picture, then I put it down, stays with music, bought a lot of electric guitar equipments. Now since I hooked with photography, I have sold most of my equipment except my beloved Fender Stratocaster. Now is all about camera (but I still play guitar, first love never die).

Why I choose Nikon over the other brand like Canon? Well both are great SLR camera, no doubt great picture, quality, and supports. It's the control in my hand that makes me choose Nikon, I found myself easy to work with Nikon in my hand. Even then I found out that Nikon lens price is higher than most Canon. I have no choice. Like some says, buying a camera system is like marrying it, buy it and live with it. You can't have 2 system (thought some have both).

My first DSLR is Nikon D300, great camera, I have it for 8 months then I trade it for D700. Great camera, except it is heavy, plus if you have high end lens which is also heavy, get start to build your muscle strength. Then my photography life begin, I'll post more stuff here, review some places, links, etc. I thank you for your time to check out my web and blog.

Dinner after easter mass

I do have a lot of story, let's start with this, on easter vigil night April 11, 2009, after the mass me and bunch of my friends went to one korean hot pot or whatever style it is ( you name it) suggested by Intan (the cool one). The food was good, pretty cheap and I'm pretty full ( some says you weren't pretty when you full). This time I tested my camera in low light situation, Nikon D700 ( price= cost me half of my soul) with 24-70/f.2.8, ISO 1600, 1/15. The picture comes out sweet, after struggling with my previous D300 noise, finally I love this camera, except one thing! It's damn heavy! My palm now has "Arnold Schwarzeneger" muscle, soon will grow Wolverine Claws, and I will never picking my nose anymore.
